Hi Kate, To make a connection you will have to visit that users profile. So just click on the user avatar or user full name and that will take you to their profile where you will see an 'Add Connection' button under the persons name.
Not immediately clear how to make a connection with another user? Perhaps add 'send request' again under the 'connections' tab?
